Lumin uses Augmented Reality (AR) technology, to provide visitors with new ways to engage with the DIA’s collection. While looking at a work of art, visitors can access AR overlays, images, and animations to provide contextual information, such as how an object was initially used or its original location.
Lumin content was created by the DIA’s interpretive team leveraging GuidiGO’s augmented reality platform, AR Composer, built specifically for Tango. A pilot of the device took place January –April 2017. During the pilot evaluators conducted user testing and observations. Below are some of the results.
